Makeup is an art and it keeps getting more and more diversified every single day. With the increase in depth and understanding of makeovers and the constant invention of different products, makeup has become a very complex subject. In order to make it easier for you, I’m here with some fairly simple makeup hacks that you would love to learn. So, let’s start!

1. Foundation vs. Eyeshadow:

Eyeshadow

And you certainly can’t seem to find which one wins the battle? I’ll tell you. Always apply the eyeshadow before you apply your foundation. The reason is, flecks from the eyeshadow fall on the face and unnecessarily pigment the foundation which requires us to reapply the foundation. So, never try and put the eyeshadow after wearing a foundation. There are eye primers out there that prepare eyes to be drawn upon with makeup.

2. Primer is the key:

Never even think about skipping the primer. If your primer is causing skin issues, try and find a new one. But do not think about ditching it at all. Primer helps build the base and it holds on to the skin while smoothing the surface out. You can find an amazing primer for oily skin here.

3. Pick the Right Foundation:

In order to make sure that your skin doesn’t look patchy and unrealistically fairer than your natural skincare, visit the cosmetics store with no makeup on. You should preferably test the new foundation at your jawline. Plus, always apply makeup with a sponge and not your bare hands because products get wasted on the hands.

4. Matifying Powder:

Chances are, even after you’ve primed your base for an oily skin you’re going to either encounter more oil or sweat. In this case, what will protect your makeup from melting is a matifying powder, or a setting powder which helps set the products on skin by absorbing any excess sweat or oil. It works as a soaking filter. Conclusion? Do not forget to set your makeup with a translucent powder.

5. Mascara:

Mascara

You don’t have to splurge on the mascara unnecessarily but you do need to throw out the old ones. The life of mascara in my opinion is maximum three months. After that it is simply not usable. So, you need to replace it almost every three months. The reason is, each time you open your mascara tube bacteria makes its way inside and there it breeds and grows. The longer it takes in there the worse it gets for causing eye infections.

6. Wash Your Face Before Sleeping:

Or use your makeup cleaning wipes – and splash some water. It will keep your skin fresh, beautiful and free of pimples. If you sleep with your makeup on, you will probably wake up the next morning with zits on your face. No matter how tired and worked up you are, wash your face before you sleep.

With these fairly simple hacks and tips, you’ll notice that your makeup gets better and so does your skin when the makeup is off. Have a good week!
